Support Workers Required

BRC’s Community & Welfare Team are seeking qualified & experienced Support Workers to work in residential Services with Young persons & Adults with extreme challenging, and unpredictable behaviours. 


We have casual positions available for experienced Mental Health & Youth Support Workers, to work at various locations across Sydney’s inner west and hills district.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of providing support and services to adults, young persons with Psychiatric Illness and Intellectual Disability in High Support, Extreme Challenging Behaviour Units.
  • Demonstrated Experience in Crisis management including appropriate use of TMAV (Therapeutic Management of Aggression and Violence).
  • Liaising with and reporting to a Multi-disciplinary team.
  • Implementing care plans and supporting clients to actively participate in activities of daily living.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Clients with Extreme Challenging Behaviours, and Mental Health issues including Pschizophrenia, Bi Polar, Complex Trauma, Dual Diagnosis etc.


Essential requirements:

  • You will need to have a Minimum of a Cert IV in Youth, Mental Health, Disability or other relevant field, as well as extensive experience. (Certificate 3 may be considered for some positions, based on experience)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Drivers Licence essential
  • Own transport is highly advantageous.

Pay rate:  $23.56 per hour  - $27.07 per hour + Super + Shift penalties
